Former Players - WHAT DOES THE FORMER PLAYER ASSOCIATION MEAN TO YOU:

Kevan Broadhurst : ‘It is an honour to be part of a select group who have represented Birmingham City Football Club. It’s great to hear stories from playing days not only from my era but from former generations of Birmingham City Football Club.’

Gil Merrick : ‘For years since my retirement from football and Birmingham City, I have also thought the ex players needed an association, this is the best thing that has happened for the former players.’

Alex Govan : ‘The former players’ association means the world to me, its nice to meet up with old friends who I haven’t seen for years. Birmingham City has always looked after me well.’

Bob Hatton : ‘It’s great to come back to St. Andrew’s and see my old team mates and stars from previous generations who I looked up to and respected. The FPA is a great idea and should have been started years ago! Long may it continue and let’s hope it grows from strength to strength.’

Ian Clarkson : “The former players’ association is a great way of socialising with former mates, having a game of football and raising money for good causes.”

Trevor Francis : “ I would like to pay tribute to Tom Ross and Kevan Broadhurst on helping to put this together, something very much overdue and it’s a great idea and opportunity for all players from all generations to get to together to see each other to share memories and stories from BCFC. I applaud them both on their achievement.”

Gordon Astall : “ I don’t get many opportunities to catch up with my playing mates it’s great there is now an association which brings together players from all different generations or can share stories and enjoy memories of Birmingham City Football Club.”
